How to Sync Inter Empresas (Business) to Google Sheets Automatically

April 12, 20266 min read

To sync Inter Empresas (Banco Inter's business account) to Google Sheets automatically, connect your PJ account via Open Finance Brasil in Manio and point it at a spreadsheet. Your business transactions start flowing into Sheets without manual exports, without PDFs, and without typing anything. The setup takes about 10 minutes.

The Export Challenge with Inter Empresas

Inter Empresas is one of the most popular digital PJ accounts in Brazil. Fully digital onboarding, no maintenance fees, free Pix, cashback on Inter Shop purchases, and a corporate card with no annual fee. For daily operations, it works very well.

The problem appears when you need to analyse your financial data outside the app. Inter was built as an app-first bank. That is great for transacting, but app-first banks typically do not invest in data export tools. The manual options are limited: copying from the app screen, generating a PDF statement, or simply waiting for the bank to ship an export feature. For anyone who wants to maintain an up-to-date PJ cash flow spreadsheet, this does not work for more than a couple of weeks.

Paying for a full ERP (Conta Azul, Omie, Nibo) just for financial visibility is overkill for a small business. Want to see when an ERP makes sense? Check our comparison of Conta Azul, Omie, Nibo and Spreadsheets.

Open Finance Brasil Works with Inter PJ Accounts

Open Finance Brasil is a Central Bank regulation that gives you (whether an individual or a business) the right to share your banking data with authorised services. This applies to Inter PJ accounts in exactly the same way as personal accounts. You authorise the data sharing in the Inter app, using your regular credentials. Your password is never shared with third parties.

Inter, as a digital bank with modern infrastructure, has fully implemented the Open Finance APIs. The data that arrives via Open Finance from Inter Empresas is structured and consistent, free of the issues that affect manual exports.

The consent is valid for up to 12 months and can be revoked at any time from the Inter app. Want to understand how Open Finance protects your data? Read our guide on Open Finance security.

How to Sync Inter Empresas to Google Sheets with Manio

Manio is an authorised Open Finance Brasil participant. It reads your Inter Empresas transactions through the official API and writes them directly to Google Sheets. One-time configuration, and everything runs automatically from there.

Step 1: Create a Manio Account

Go to manio.app and sign up with email or a Google account. The Trial plan is free and includes 1 bank connection with daily sync and 50 syncs.

Step 2: Connect Inter Empresas via Open Finance

In the Manio dashboard, go to "Bank Connections" and select Banco Inter. Enter your company's CNPJ (or CPF, if the account is linked to your personal document). You will be redirected to Inter's Open Finance consent screen. Log in with your normal credentials on Inter's servers. Choose to share the PJ checking account, corporate card, or both. Manio never sees your password.

Step 3: Add Google Sheets as a Destination

Under "Destinations", select Google Sheets. Authorise Manio via Google's OAuth and select the spreadsheet that will receive the data.

Step 4: Map Your Accounts

Link each Inter Empresas account to a tab in your spreadsheet. If the business has a checking account and a corporate card, you can put everything in one tab (the Account column differentiates) or create separate tabs for each product.

Step 5: Initial Sync

Trigger the first sync from the dashboard. On the Pro plan (R$19.99/month), Manio imports all the history the bank makes available via Open Finance, typically around 12 months. On the Trial plan, the first sync covers up to 30 days. After that, new transactions are added automatically: Trial syncs once daily, Pro every 8 hours.

What Appears in Your Spreadsheet

Each synced Inter Empresas transaction creates a new row with:

  • Date: consistent format across all account types
  • Description: payer, vendor, or merchant name, cleaned for readability
  • Amount: in BRL, positive for inflows (including cashback), negative for outflows
  • Type: Pix sent, Pix received, TED, bill payment, bank fee, corporate card purchase
  • Account: Inter Empresas checking or Inter Empresas corporate card
  • Transaction ID: unique identifier to prevent duplicates

Data arrives clean and structured. From here, you build whatever you need: client-based revenue categories, monthly cash flow, tax reserves, corporate cashback analysis.

PJ Financial Management in Google Sheets

With Inter Empresas data flowing automatically, the spreadsheet becomes a real management tool. Some ideas:

Monthly Cash Flow

Create a summary tab with SUMIFS grouping inflows and outflows by month. Add a bar chart to track the trend. Identify peak months and slow months to plan working capital.

Corporate Cashback Analysis

Inter Empresas offers cashback on Inter Shop purchases and card spending at partner merchants. In the spreadsheet, these credits appear as positive transactions. Filter by description or type to isolate cashbacks and calculate the effective return on company spending.

Simples Nacional Tax Reserve

If the business is on Simples Nacional, create a column that calculates the monthly tax provision based on revenue. The official calculation is done by your accountant in PGDAS-D, but the spreadsheet provision gives you early visibility and prevents surprises.

Pro-labore and Withdrawals

Filter pro-labore and partner withdrawal transactions. Track whether the monthly amount is within plan and accumulate the year-to-date total for income tax purposes.

Sharing with Your Accountant

Share the spreadsheet in read-only mode with your accountant. They gain visibility into the cash flow without needing access to any other system. Google Sheets complements (does not replace) the official accounting work.

Works with Other PJ Banks Too

If your business has accounts at other banks, Manio connects them all and consolidates everything in the same spreadsheet. See also how to sync Nubank Empresas and Itau Empresas to Google Sheets.

For the full guide on connecting any PJ account to Sheets, see How to Connect Your Business Account to Google Sheets Automatically.

You can also mix PF and PJ accounts in the same Manio account, each pointing to a different spreadsheet or tab. Data is never mixed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a CNPJ to connect Inter Empresas?

Yes. Inter Empresas is a PJ account linked to the company's CNPJ. When connecting, you enter the CNPJ. If you use a personal Inter account (PF) to receive payments as a MEI, that also works: just enter your CPF.

Does Inter charge for the Open Finance connection?

No. Data sharing via Open Finance is free, regulated by Brazil's Central Bank. Manio has a free Trial plan with 1 bank connection, daily sync, and 50 syncs. The Pro plan costs R$19.99/month, with sync every 8 hours, unlimited syncs, and up to 10 banks.

Is it safe? Does LGPD apply?

The access is read-only. Nobody can move money through the integration. Your password is never shared. Open Finance is regulated by Brazil's Central Bank. Manio treats all data under LGPD, including PJ account data. You can revoke consent at any time from the Inter app.

Does Inter Empresas cashback show up in the spreadsheet?

Yes. Cashback credits appear as positive transactions in the checking account data. You can filter and analyse them separately.

Does corporate card data come through?

Yes. If the PJ account has a corporate card, it appears as an additional account during the consent step. Corporate card transactions are synced alongside checking account data, separated by the Account column.

Can I use PF and PJ at the same time?

Yes. Connect your personal account (PF) and business account (PJ) in the same Manio account, each pointing to a different spreadsheet or tab. Each link is independent.

How much transaction history is available on the first sync?

On the Pro plan (R$19.99/month), Manio imports all the history the bank makes available via Open Finance, typically around 12 months. On the Trial plan, the first sync covers up to 30 days.

Does Manio replace my accountant?

No. Manio replaces the manual data import layer. Accounting remains with your accountant. What Manio does is deliver bank data to your spreadsheet so you have financial visibility without needing an ERP.
