Can ChatGPT See Your Bank Transactions?
An increasingly common question: can ChatGPT see my bank transactions? The short answer is that, on its own, it cannot, at least not for Brazilian banks. Does ChatGPT see your bank by default? No
By default, ChatGPT has no access to your bank accounts. It only knows what you paste into the conversation or what a connected tool provides. The native ChatGPT Finances feature, launched on May 15, 2026, does connect to banks, but it runs on Plaid and works only in the United States. For Brazilian banks, it sees nothing.
How to let ChatGPT see your transactions in Brazil

What ChatGPT can read, exactly
With Manio connected, ChatGPT reads the data Open Finance exposes for each transaction:
- Amount and date of each transaction
- Merchant name, already cleaned to be readable
- Source account and institution (Nubank, Itaú, Inter, etc.)
- Balance of the connected accounts
With that, it answers questions like "how much did I spend on groceries this month" or "what are my recurring subscriptions" using your real data.
What ChatGPT CANNOT do
Here is the point that raises the most security questions. Access is strictly read-only (the transactions:read scope). That means ChatGPT:
- Cannot make a Pix, transfer or any payment
- Cannot pay bills or move money
