How to Connect ChatGPT to Your Brazilian Bank

If you have ever asked ChatGPT to analyze your spending, you have probably found that it cannot reach your bank transactions. For Brazilian banks there is a clear technical reason for that, and also a solution that works today. The short answer

ChatGPT does not connect to Brazilian banks natively. The ChatGPT Finances feature, launched on May 15, 2026, runs on Plaid, which only covers US banks and has no access to Brazil's Open Finance. To connect ChatGPT to your Nubank, Itaú, Inter or any Brazilian bank, you use Manio: you connect your bank to Manio through Open Finance and authorize ChatGPT to read the transactions. Access is read-only, so the AI analyzes your spending but never moves money.

Why ChatGPT cannot reach Brazilian banks on its own

ChatGPT Finances relies on Plaid, the same aggregator YNAB and most US apps use. Plaid has agreements with thousands of institutions in the US, Canada and Europe, but it does not participate in Open Finance Brasil, the Central Bank-regulated system that standardizes data sharing in the country. Without that integration, ChatGPT simply cannot see a Nubank or Itaú account.

On the free plan, the last 30 days. On the Pro plan (R$19.99/month), all history the bank makes available through Open Finance, typically around 12 months. When you ask for a period older than your plan allows, ChatGPT itself flags it and suggests upgrading.
